Greetings Dear Readers,
July was a month of hello’s and goodbye’s, as we said farewell to Cheery Lynn and welcomed our sixth new build! You can visit us on YouTube to watch the start-to-finish journey of our completed Cheery Lynn project!
As for the new build, while there isn’t a lot of visual progress to share at this time, there is a flurry of activity happening behind the scenes to ensure everything is in place for construction to begin. A huge part of pulling off a smooth build is having everything in order for permitting, scheduling, and deliveries. A few tasks we are currently working on are:
* Awaiting truss calculations for the roof, as well as our soils and pad certification, so that we can submit our plans to the City.
* Our sewer line extension project is on track and coming up very soon, which must be 100% complete for us to obtain our building permit.
* We have also applied for a change of address since the orientation of the house will be changed from east/west to north/south. This is always more desirable when considering the Arizona heat, as it will provide some shade in the backyard between the house and casita.
