Embarking on our construction journey has been nothing short of exhilarating, as we ushered in the New Year with the installation of trusses on January 2nd and the beginning stages of our roof! The delivery of lumber for our front entry portico marked a pivotal moment, materializing the envisioned grand entrance. There’s an undeniable joy that accompanies the scent of lumber, a simple pleasure that never fails to evoke pure happiness!
A distinctive aspect of this construction endeavor was the installation of anchor bolts at the framing base, a necessity arising from the monolithic pour. Excitement soared as we passed the inspection on our very first attempt! The secret to our success has undeniably been teamwork! This ensures a seamless build, which is especially important during the meticulous electrical and plumbing rough-in phase.
Our journey continued with the ever exciting task of paint selection. Choosing the perfect white paint color may not seem like a difficult , but certainly proved to be an adventure in itself. After careful consideration, our choice settled on Sherwin Wiliams “Creamy”, a hue radiating just the right warmth for both the interior and exterior spaces of this home.
As we concluded this month, a significant step forward was taken as Mike from Taylor Made Pools finalized equipment measurements. This paved the way for the eagerly anticipated pool permit, adding another layer of excitement to our construction journey. I’d also like to give a big shoutout to my hubby, Rob Day, for providing us with a unique perspective of our ever evolving project, as he adeptly doubled as our skilled drone operator!
