Fantastic February at Cheery Lynn!

Greetings, readers! We’re excited to give you an update on the progress our dedicated team has made in bringing this unique vision to life. As we navigate through the different stages of construction, our custom build is taking shape, and we’re eager to share the details.

Our roofing team has been hard at work, laying down the essentials for a durable home. They’ve installed the underlayment—tar paper—adding an extra layer of weather-proofing. It’s a solid foundation, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the progress.

Behind the scenes, our electricians have been handling the wiring needs. This groundwork ensures the home will be powered seamlessly and efficiently. Kudos to them for their expertise and dedication to getting every detail right.

In a strategic move, we received our shingle delivery just in time. Loading the roof before windows or drywall installation is not just practical; it ensures the house can bear the weight effectively. This foresight also avoids potential disruptions in measurements for both windows and drywall, reflecting our commitment to careful planning for optimal results.

As the saying goes, “eyes are the windows to the soul,” and in this case, our windows are the gateway to our unique home! The arrival and installation of our Anderson windows is another significant milestone in our journey, and our framing team deserves credit for their exceptional work, particularly on the “brows” over the garage and bedroom #3. The city inspector commended their framing skills, showcasing the pride we take in delivering quality craftsmanship.

Exterior preparations are underway, featuring foam board insulation, stucco wire, and weather-resistive barrier paper. This combination provides exceptional resistance to water and moisture, ensuring the longevity of the home. Check out a short video capturing the exterior journey here!

With the completion of our exterior dry-in, including the roof underlayment, installed windows, and exterior styrofoam, we welcomed the fireplace installation. Having passed our pre-drywall inspection with flying colors, we’re excited to announce that insulation is the next step! A thank you to our team for their dedication and hard work.

The next phase involves drywall, a process spanning 2-3 weeks. From hanging and taping to mudding, texturing, and final sanding, every step is approached with care. Cheery Lynn is evolving, and we’re eager to bring you more updates as the weeks unfold. Check out a quick preview of the pre-drywall interior here!

As we continue on this journey, we appreciate your interest and patience. We are as invested in the creation of this unique vision as you are, and we are committed to making this experience as smooth and exciting as possible. Stay tuned for more updates, and let the anticipation for the completion of Cheery Lynn grow!
