October Was Quite A Treat!

October was certainly an action-packed month, with milestones occurring every week!  We started October by installing white insulation and wire to the exterior of the house in preparation for the stucco.  The following week, our AMAZING team of professionals was able to install interior spray insulation, do electrical work AND begin the pool excavation all in one day!  Mid-month we saw drywall going up and in particular, loved to see the massive master bath really taking shape.

Rounding out the month, we began measurements and layout planning for the cabinets and saw great progress on the pool.  You know how the saying goes,” It takes a village…”?  Well, that couldn’t be more true – or if not a village, at least a great team!  Our designers, cabinet guys, and awesome builder collaborated to make sure not one, not two, but seven minds (including my own) were able to come together on a plan to bring this project to its full potential.  I’m so pleased to say that everything has been walked out and talked out, to build and design the best house for the future homeowner.

UP NEXT:

  • Interior trim work prior to priming for paint.
  • Exterior elements to begin: 1st coat of stucco, board and battens, and then the brick!
  • The gorgeous engineered hardwood floors have been ordered.
  • Design elements are being prepared to order.

It’s hard to decide, but our favorite treats for 34th Street in October were probably the beautiful garage door and final coat of stucco!  The progress this month added so much character to the house.  The shingle roof was laid down and is looking gorgeous.  We are also over the moon for the amazing Tuscany White Limestone, both for its beauty and the fact that we got it for such an amazing deal on clearance! It is being applied as our third exterior element, going on our front columns, around the front door and front entrance. It gives a real presence and grounds the house nicely.  We can’t wait to see it grouted and completed soon!

The interior of the house is also taking shape nicely, with drywall and priming to prep for paint.  It’s been fun seeing some of the design elements come into play with the floor-to-ceiling dramatic black vertical shiplap in the powder room. The ceiling has been painted in Iron Ore black as well.  We think the new homeowners will appreciate something fun and different than your typical powder room.

Some other exciting happenings…

We’ve been getting some interest from the neighbors and had our first showing!  And to let you in on a little secret…. There is a much smaller new build going up down the street that started months before ours. We are secretly competing to complete our beauty before theirs; and I’m betting we will take the win with our amazing builder and crew!
