July didn’t exactly go as planned for 34th Place, but we didn’t let that stop us from making progress! A delay in availability for our framing crew threw us a curve ball, but we pivoted, turning our focus to another important piece of this project – POOL PLANNING! We worked with our pool designer to finalize all the details and were able to submit for our pool permit ahead of schedule. We know the new home owners will really enjoy this pool design, especially the Baja ledge, which provides a place to lounge in the shallow water!
Next up: FRAMING!
(No, really, I mean it!!)
We are so pleased to share that July on 34th Street started out with absolute fireworks! We passed our inspections and on July 5th “The School House” got a total of 33 yards of concrete poured! It took three truck loads to finish the job; and it feels so concrete to have the floor poured, and see the layout of the first floor take shape!
Framing began July 18th, and boy did our framing crew fly! As always, they did an amazing job. To show our continued appreciation, we treated everyone to lunch: Italian subs, chips, peaches, chocolate chip cookies, and a cooler full of Gatorade! We can’t ever fully express our gratitude for this wonderful crew and their dedication to high quality work, but we sure can try!
Arrival of Trusses on July 22nd marked another important milestone for this project
As you may know, we’ve been working hard to ensure that the framing for this build would be complete before school started. We really strive to show respect within the neighborhoods where we work. The beginning of the school year is always a busy and stressful time, and we certainly didn’t want to add any additional strife for the local families, school staff or our own crew by having framing taking place while school was in session! As such, we were absolutely thrilled that the framers had the second story on by July 27th…6 days before the school bells rang! We are also over the moon to see this beautiful home really begin to take shape!
